It’s being reported that a vehicle struck a pedestrian.

Victims of unemployment fraud frustrated over potential taxation of benefits they did not receive

Following a year in which state unemployment agencies across the nation were victims of many fraudulent claims, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) is advising people who received incorrect tax forms for unemployment benefits to immediately notify the agency upon receiving the documents.

One of those is Las Vegas resident Denise Tanata, 46, who first filed a fraud claim to DETR in August when her former employer notified her that they had received a notice from the department of an unemployment claim tied to Tanata’s name.

Sheriff Ken Furlong has approved the recommendation for a new uniform to be worn by Carson City Sheriff’s Deputies.

The recommendation for acceptance was presented by the Carson City Sheriff’s Deputies Association, as well as the Sheriff’s Supervisory Association, supporting the health, safety, and welfare of law enforcement personnel.

Carson City deputies arrest man for methamphetamine possession after driving an unregistered vehicle

A 30-year-old transient man was arrested in the 500 block of N. Carson Street Monday afternoon for possession of methamphetamine among other charges.

According to the police report, Norberto Gutierrez-Ceja was arrested after deputies conducted a registration check on a vehicle and found that the license plate was registered to another vehicle.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Housing Division has received approximately $124 million to provide additional temporary rental and housing expense assistance through the CARES Housing Assistance Program. The CHAP program has served approximately 29,000 Nevadans to date. The additional funds are currently expected to help an estimated 20,000 households with rent and utilities.
